Ball #26

This was the fourth ball from my aunt. It was black and I painted it navy and decorated it with large and small marine assorted in a swirl pattern. This ball sold at my Homemaker's Club Christmas Auction.

Ball #23

I hit paydirt again at the Lutheran Church's rummage sale on August 18, 2006. This is the first of 3 balls I bought that day. It was a lovely pearly tan color and I covered it with large and small clear marbles in a swirl pattern. (At last - something other than flower power!) A friend and neighbor in my craft club was especially enthusiastic about a ball I put in our club's annual Christmas auction, so I gave her this one as a present. (It's always nice to have them go to a good home!)

Ball #9

I purchased this ball at the Lutheran Church's rummage sale. I scored 4 balls that particular day. I've been back every sale since and have found a few more, but never as good as the first time. I never got so much joy out of $5 purchase!

This ball is black and I decorated it with black and orange marbles for my father. It looks like a basketball, which was not intentional, and I'm not crazy about the results. It was supposed to be a meandering black line. Someday I'd like to redecorate it or do another one using the same colors in a different pattern. I had to buy the black marbles on ebay because I couldn't find any in the local craft stores. Since then I have seen them at Hobby Lobby. (which just moved into the area - Hooray!)

Ball #2

This ball belonged to my youngest sister. When it didn't sell at her garage sale, she gave it to me. It was an aqua swirl pattern. The random line was made using clear with aqua cat eye half marbles. The rest of the ball was filled in with small, clear round marbles. Since this was my first marble ball, I used GE II in a tube with a caulking gun. I would smear on a patch and press the marbles into it. I changed my method in subsequent balls. I gave this ball back to my sister and it has been outside in her garden ever since, about 5 years ago at this point in time.
