Ball #61

Here's another ball found by my sister and her husband by the side of the road when they were bike riding. It was an aqua swirl and I covered it with white opaque stars, clear round, and clear with a white cat eye. I sold it to my father in May of 2009. He gave it to his sister, my aunt.

Ball #38

Here's yet another ball that my Aunt got from the bowling alley. This one was also cracked. I patched it with wood putty and touched it up with maroon and blue paint to match the ball, which was a maroon swirl. I decorated it with concentric circles of red, blue and clear. There are also shaped glass flower, heart, and butterfly marbles. I gave this one to my friend who loves patriotic and primitive colors in May of 2008.

Ball #37

Here is another ball my Aunt got from a bowling alley. This one was cracked - I assume a casualty during finger hole drilling. It was black with sparkles. I painted it white and covered it with opaque orange & green flower power, iridescent opaque aqua, and clear with aqua cat eye. I gave this one to my mother for Valentine's Day, 2007. It matches the colors in her sun room, where it currently resides. Because of the cracks it was not weather resistant, so it worked out perfectly to have an indoor place for it.

Ball #36

My Aunt got this ball from a bowling alley. It was pink and yellow fluorescent - pretty hideous, actually. I covered it with opaque white and yellow flower power and then used clear for fill. The marbles muted the colors and the end result was very cheerful and unusual. It sold at the garden center during the summer of 2007.

Ball #26

This was the fourth ball from my aunt. It was black and I painted it navy and decorated it with large and small marine assorted in a swirl pattern. This ball sold at my Homemaker's Club Christmas Auction.

Ball #14

My aunt gave me this ball. It was a blue swirl pattern and I decorated it with turquoise and clear with turquoise cat eyes in a flower power. I gave this ball back to my aunt to give to her daughter-in-law's mother.

Ball #13

My aunt (the recipient of the giant bowling pin) found this ball for me. It was white and I painted it with hammered silver. It is decorated with large and small translucent green and opaque white marbles in a flower power pattern. It has resided on the north side of the house in the hosta bed for a couple of years.

Giant Bowling Pin (or - "What Else Can I Glue Marbles On"?)

My mother found a plastic bowling pin bank at an estate sale and got the great idea of decorating it for my aunt to go along with her birthday bowling ball (#10). I stuffed most of the pin with styrofoam peanuts, and then put a couple bags of river rocks in the bottom to give it weight. I painted the entire thing with navy fusion paint and then decorated it with a variety of blue marbles. It was my aunt's Christmas present in 2007 and is definitely one of a kind!

Ball #10

Here's the second ball from the rummage sale. It was black; I painted it navy and decorated it with opaque periwinkle blue and clear with periwinkle cat eye in a flower power style. It was given to my aunt for her 65th birthday on May 22, 2006.

Ball #5

This is my first "flower power" pattern ball. My aunt gave me this ball. It was another aqua swirl color and I decorated it very similarly to #2, with the addition of the flower power design using small and large clears. I gave this to the friend who found my first ball for me.
